BUDGET BREAKDOWN
Things to note:

Due to the nature of my freelance work, I always book my flights last minute, which means they cost a lot more than if bought a few months in advance

Whilst the Philippines isn't expensive, it's more pricey than some of the mainland popular backpacking countries in South East Asia
-
Transport in the Philippines is super slow, flights are often delayed (for hours on end), so don't think you can quickly hop from one island to another
-
I paid for nearly everything in cash, so it was hard to keep track of a detailed budget
